Some Recent Press reports

The Daily Telegraph of 5th December 2009 had a write-up in its section on Classic cars, of chassis 96 as a good example of the marque.
It was somewhat disparaging of the 16 mpg though most owners expect to get nearer 20 mpg (25% better!) and those cars fitted with the 5-speed gearbox do even better especially on a good run

Caution

For those drivers approaching 70 years of age.

It has been noted that when applying for a replacement driving licence upon reaching the age of 70 years,  the replacement licence only contains the class A for motor cars.  If you have other classes on your licence, you are strongly advised to take a proper copy or photocopy of it so that you can prove that you had these other parts to your driving licence. The DVLC are very reluctant to re-instate the other classes without proof.  Stating that you had them before is not apparently sufficient proof for them as they may well not have a separate record.

Road Safety Issues

There is currently considerable controversy over the use of speed cameras and road furniture as safety measures to reduce accidents and injury to road users.

The technique of safe driving  is well demonstrated by such organisations as The Institute of Advanced Motorists, Safe Speed and a recent publication entitled “Mind Driving” by Stephen Haley
